About Learn Through Travel

Our Mission

We promote and facilitate meaningful opportunities to travel at home and abroad. Whether you are a college student seeking study abroad credit and life-long resume capital, an avid traveler wanting more depth of experience, or life-long adventurer, you will find our programs designed with you in mind.
Currently, we are happy to announce an exciting summer 2025 opportunity to study international relations for three weeks at the Oxford Study Abroad Programme in the United Kingdom. This three-week accredited summer course will run from July 3 to July 28, 2025.

Our Vision

Learning through Travel means exactly what it says. Our vision focuses on experiential learning, engaging a new subject, new culture and new city more fully, with a clearer and more meaningful understanding. If you are a community college or University student, studying abroad has practical benefits ranging from fulfilling requirements to graduate, setting yourself aside from your peers (less than 15% of American students ever study overseas), and increasing your chances of getting hired after you graduate by two-to-one. If you are a life-long learner, or have sought to deepen your knowledge of an historic place or topic, we welcome all with open arms. Our extended classroom includes excursions to major cities and historical attractions such as Windsor Palace, London, Bath, Cambridge, and Warwick Castle.

He has lived on both the West coast (San Francisco Bay Area and San Diego) and the East coast (Washington, D.C.), spent five years in Europe, and knows first-hand how study abroad helps advance a career and foster creativity when you come home. He has a degree in European History and French Literature from the University of California San Diego and did his graduate work in International Relations at the Johns Hopkins University Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies.

He has studied and worked in Austria (Salzburg and Vienna), France (Grenoble and Paris), Germany (Bonn and Berlin), Italy (Bologna), the Netherlands (Amsterdam and the Hague), as well as in the United Kingdom (London and Oxford).  He has directed—and taught for–study abroad programs in the United Kingdom, Russia, the Middle East and at the Hansen Leadership Institute at the University of San Diego, California.  He has several teaching awards and speaks French, German, and Italian.

Ron is the Professor of Record for the Oxford Study Abroad Programme in International Relations. He assists the Director, Professor Cory Gustafson, in recruiting students, managing the academic program and leading excursions. Professor Bee teaches alongside 10-15 British and American colleagues, most of whom have had direct hands-on expertise in their topic areas.  Dons, master teachers, typically have served in business, government, as well as the armed forces of the United Kingdom or the United States. Ron and Corey have brought over 300 American students of all ages (18-80) to the oldest English-speaking University in the world to experience British culture and master the complexities of international relations.  Why not you?
